The Liebster Award

Lovely Ami from "The PreTender" made me the gorgeous honour of nominating me for the Liebster Award!

The Rules:

My answers:

1. If you won the lottery, what's the first thing you would buy?
I'd use it as college-money, in case Parsons will accept me.

2. What item of clothing couldn't you live without?
That's a hard one. For this summer I'd make it my maxi-dress but who knows what autumn brings...

3. Do you prefer skirts or shorts?
Skirts! They're so much more feminine.

4. What's your favourite season for fashion?
Definetly autumn. There are the last warm days for summer's fashion but autumn/winter styles are much more exciting!

5. What's your dream job?
Working for a fashion magazine in Manhattan.

6. What's your favourite fashion magazine?
Glamour

7. How did you get into blogging?
I didn't want my everyday styles to get lost and it's fun for me to see how much my style changes all of the time.

8. Favourite fashion icon?
Rihanna's looks are very provocative, I adore her. Also I made Aria Montgomery, from the Pretty Little Liars - Series, my icon.

9. Favourite fictional character?
That'd be Peter Pan. I've had a crush on him all of my childhood!

10. If you could wear only one designer's clothes, who would it be?
Aw that's a hard one, I  really fancy Maison Scotch right now, so it might be that.

11. If you could live anywhere, where would it be?
 Manhattan!

My questions:

 1. If you could have every piece of clothing you desire but you'd have to choose from which brand, what would the brand be?

2. What is with you in your purse all of the time?

3. What was your best buy this summer?

4. What's your all time favourite in your wardrobe?

5. If you could live anywhere, where would it be?

6. Where do you see yourself in 5 to 10 years?

7. What's your favourite trend for the upcoming season?

8. And your least favourite one?

9. Where do you shop the most?

10. Which magazines do you read?

11. In which decade would you live, if you could choose free?

Glitter &Gold

Well as you might have noticed lately I developed a failble for the colour orange. Also I used the shoes for the last look (Orange Pants) featuring my sister. But anyway this look is slightly more elegant than casual but still touched up edgy with the leather jacket. The flowers on the skirt match the shirts colour and make it more dainty. I wore the outfit to a familydinner.
I really hope you guys like it!

Design

I just realized it was such an awfully long time since my last post! So I thought I might show some of my latest designs.

The first look is inspired by a fifties petticoat. It's high-waisted and has a lot of tulle. The top is cropped,  more like a bra, but also in a fifties-cut.

The second look has a v-neck, which goes down to the bellybutton and has stripes of cloth up to the neck. The underskirt is skintight and quite short. The overskirt is high-waisted and out of a light tulle. Also it's asymmetric. The whole backpart is made of the same tulle which is on the inside of the overskirt.

So what do you think? I look forward too hear your opinion!

Cutouts and Tulle

Well I found time and I started to do more drawing. I'm kinda forcing myself to do a little scetching every day so I get better. I also got back to drawing fashion and here's one of my favourites right now:

Lace up!

I bought those fancy nail stickers a few days ago and just tried them on. They're so awesome! You simply stick them on, cut them into the right shape and are finished. I love it, 'cause usually i screw my nailpolish by touching and stuff! And they were like one or two euros! Whaa, love them!

Creative Madness

There was an awful storm at our place yesterday night and I got crazy, 'cause I couldn't sleep. I did some fashion design but my creative-fashion-energy quickly ran out :P (I'll upload the designs later on). So anyway I started to visualise some of the ideas I got on the train earlier that day...here you go:

Building Dreams

Finally it's like 'real summer' at our place! The temperature is perfect and the best of all is: 2 weeks of holiday! Unforunatly we recently started to renew our terrace - well the good part is I have an awesome set for my photos - but so I can't have my friends over in the summer nights as I'm used to.

I wore this outfit for dancing rehersal yesterday (dancing in different shoes) and I had to experience that the shorts in comination with the top is quite too reckless for our slightly stuffy town...

Big Jet Plane

Yes, this is the title of one of the most popular songs of Angus & Julia Stone, the singers I wrote about lately.
The look might be familiar to those of you, who follow my lookbook activities. I made it a few weeks ago, when the weather was all nice and hot. At the moment it rains tons and tons of water. I think this look's quite funky and I love it for summer. I usually don't wear the overknees with it, but I like them anyway.
I imediatly fell in love with this dress when I saw it at ZARA, 'cause of the fancy skirt. Also the short sleeved pullover is so nice to wear and it makes the floral, feminine dress more casual.

Shoes, shoes, shoes

Well, yeah, I'm a normal girl too. I'm deeply in love with shoes. I recently applied for a job in a large shoe-store in the city and pray to get the job. Spending my whole day with shoes? AWESOME ;) Shoes are the one piece that complete a outfit.
You walk through your life on your feet, so the should look pretty.
I found this gorgeous british shoe brand on lookbook called KOI COUTURE. They have really fancy stuff and make great deals with bloggers around the world. Check it out here:

Have a great day, keep walking with your head up high but keep your feet on the ground!

#2 Blog of the week

It's time again! Today I'll present the 2nd blog of the week to you!

Here comes Alina!

Alina will be 16 by the end of the summer, but she wishes she was a few years older. She was born in Spain but she's living in Finland, in northern Europe.
Recently  she started to write in English. Before that she only wrote in Finnish, so international readers: You are now welcome!
She started blogging last autumn. She actually had planned to start blogging for a long time already. Now she owns the wonderful bi-lingual blog http://365dayswithalina.blogspot.de/

Your blog in 2 words: fresh and colorful :)

When and why did you start blogging: I started blogging because I wanted to share my thoughts and photos to everyone. My dream is to be admired by someone through my blog! :)
Favorite quote:  Look, I don't want to wax philosophic, but I will say that if you're alive you've got to flap your arms and legs, you've got to jump around a lot, for life is the very opposite of death, and therefore you must at very least think noisy and colorfully, or you're not alive.
What inspires and/or motivates you: I get most of my inspiration from Lookbook.nu and blogs. I also love Louise Roe's, Alexa Chung's and Whitney Eve's styles!
What makes your blog different: I try to write only of things that people are interested in and leave all the boring stuff away. I also use quite colorful photos in my blog.
Where you see yourself in 5 years: In my wildest dreams I will live in LA and be a fashion designer or a stylist. Anyway if I won't be living somewhere else in five years, I will be disappointed.

Anything left to say: You are all welcome to check out my blog or Lookbook profile! Kisses Alina ♥

Say it.

Stop thinking about what I said or did. Stop thinking about how pretty I am or not. Start saying it. To my face. Everything. It won’t kill. Not me, nor you.
Believe me.

I don't know why. It's nineteen minutes after midnight. I'm listening to awesome Florence + The Machine. And I' m sad. No not sad. Disappointed. Just...like that. As if I had nothing better to do. Do I? Who knows.

#1 Blog of the week

I AM SO EXCITED!

About a week ago I started posting in the lookbook.nu forum that I'd love to present a "Blog of the Week" every...well week :) I also wrote to some blogs directly, that just inspired me.
A lot of young bloggers wrote, they'd want to take part in this project and I had quite a hard time choosing, who should be first. Those who wrote me and aren't presented today will be presented in the next few weeks! Also if you want to be the next blog of the week you can still write an mail to victoria@thekempters.de, subject blog of the week and tell me, why it should be your blog!

Now let me finally introduce TIPHAINE to you!

She's from switzerland, 19 years old and the owner of the beautiful blog makeitsparkling.blogspot.de.
She writes in english and is blogging since february 2012.

Here's a short profile:

Your blog in 2 words: I blog about my personal style and some events in my life :)

When and why did you start blogging: I started blogging a few months ago because fashion is my passion and I've decided to take it to a new level by starting my own style blog.

Favorite quote: I think it's that one from Audrey Hepburn: "I believe in pink. I believe that laughing is the best calorie burner. I believe in kissing, kissing a lot. I believe in being strong when everything seems to be going wrong. I believe that happy girls are the prettiest. I believe that tomorrow is another day and I believe in miracles."

What inspires and/or motivates you: Pretty much everything inspires me ! Everything that surrounds me and also I read tons of magazines, blogs etc so this too :) and what motivates me is that fashion truly passionates me so I really love doing this !

What makes your blog different: I am really spontaneous in the way I write on my blog and I try to share as much as I can about my life because I feel really lucky about it.
Where you see yourself in 5 years: I hope I'll be living in someplace nice with my love and have a good job :)

Anything left to say: I think that the most important thing to remember if you want to be a great fashion blogger is to be yourself !

Lost and found

As I told before I recently found my "design books" I had between 2007 and 2009. Here are two more of my favourite looks. I had so much fun back then drawing fashion, maybe I should start of again...

Proudly present: Ms. Hepburn

As you can deduce from  my "name" ( Tori Golighlty) - which ISN'T my real name - I'm quite an Audrey Hepburn fan. I first saw her in "My Fair Lady" about a dozen times. Then my dad showed me "Breakfast at Tiffany's". By now I've seen almost every of her movies. I really enjoyed "Charade" and also I love "Roman Holiday".

Well anyway we had a double lesson of Arts today and I'm finished with my project so I had nothing to do. I found a portrait fotograph of lovely Ms. Hepburn along with the other pictures that inspired me for my project so I started drawing her. What du you think? Do you recognize her? I'd love to know what you think about it!

Born in the USA

As I mentioned before my mom's birthday present last year was an awesome week in New York City. Fitting she gave me this awesome blazer. It looks like it was made out of an american flag. I was born in Manhattan so the look is like MEEE!

I bought the jeans at ZARA's because at that time it had exactly my hair color and it lookes quite great ;) Even though my hair is more and more the natural color I still enjoy the jeans a lot. Its covered by some kind of wax, which makes it quite edgy.

Scrapbook - Sneakernight

The undisputed coolest trend this year are sneakers. The casual ones of course and the hot new ones: high tops!! They look like normal sneakers except for one thing, the heel! I saw both kinds of sneakers in a lot of magazines so I just had to make a scrapbooksite out of them. Tadaa!

Teen Vogue - March 2012 (US); Company - April 2012 (UK)

Part Of Me

Not my "normal" style, I know. But how said I have to stick to that!?
On of my best friens wore that floral leggins for school a few days ago and I kinda fell in love with them. So I thought of this look while being in school and asked her then if I could lend it for a day. The next they she brought them with her.

Some of you might have recognized the "FNO"-shirt. For the ones who didn't: FNO stands for "Fashion's Night Out". I was in New York for my 16th birtday last year and FNO was two days after - while I was still there!!! It was AWESOME!

Boyfriend Blazer - Strenesse

Leggins - H&M

Earrings - SIX

Ring - SIX

Let's Forget All The Things That We Say

I know this in a fashion blog. Manly. BUT I just had to share this song with you beautiful people!

Julia Stone is the musicians that like sweeps me off my feet with every new song I find. Julia's voice overfloats me. Just the voice. It's like magic!
Julia originally sings with her brother Angus Stone (they're the duo "Angus and Julia Stone") but both of them decided to go solo and will get back together end of this year!

I hope you like it. Do you know a singer or a song that touches you that much? Who?

P.S. He's awesome too, by the way!

Scrapbook - Florals 1

Florals are like the must have this summer. Just as they were last summer and even in summer of 2010. If I remember right it started with the "millefleurs"-trend.
The new thing: there are different types of flowers.
I found this great UK magazine called "Company" and it is like filled with all kind of florals. So I riped out the stuff I liked and splited them into different topics.
The trend I want to show you today are TROPICAL FLORALS.

Poker Face

Since I was able to hold a pencil in my hands I drew fashion. I recently found the 2 books I filled with designs from 2007 to 2009. These are the designs I drew last in my second book. They were inspired by...POKER:) I hope you like my drawing, there are some more following some time soon.

Penguins love flying on planes

Well okay, the headline has not anything to do with the look. I just had to think about a good one and googled flying and love. I saw this headline of some random article and thought: "Wow Penguins are so great, lets make this my title!"

Indeed this isn't the most creative look, but I painted on those shoes for my sister and just had to make them a look. I love the graffiti-artist Banksy and the motive seemed so easy to copy.

Cardigan: Esprit; Shirt: H&M; Jeans: G-Star; Satchel: The Cambridge Satchel Company; Shoes: H&M
